Genesis was first created as Himex Organic Products in 1986 in Gatineau, Quebec as one of the first brokers and exporters of Canadian organic products to the world. As a pioneering company in the Canadian organic food industry, focus expanded to importing organic items from Europe and beyond. The company moved to Montreal, Quebec in 1992 to a 3,000 sq. ft warehouse. Three years later, due to high demand, a 14,000 sq. ft warehouse was required.
Genesis was founded on a passion for sustainable farming and the belief that organic food practices could positively impact our world’s destiny. With natural farming practices and eliminating pesticides, providing organic ingredients to people also could also have a beneficial impact to their health
Genesis now operates a 35,000 sq. ft. temperature-controlled warehouse in Montreal, Quebec located close to the Port of Montreal, serviced through the St. Lawrence River. Genesis continues to source organic ingredients from trusted producers from around the world for its partners in the food industry.
